H.E. Bailey Turnpike, OK (TNN) - UPDATE: A serious crash in Comanche County on I-44 Saturday morning sent four people to the hospital.
It happened just before 10 o’clock Saturday morning roughly one mile east of Fletcher.
According to a report released by OHP, the Jeep Grand Cherokee was heading west on I-44 when the vehicle departed the roadway and rolled over.
Officials noted that at the time of the crash the driver’s condition was sleepy and no one was wearing seat-belts. All four occupants were ejected from the vehicle.
The 35-year-old female driver from Witchita Falls was transported by Survival Flight to OU Medical Center where she was admitted in serious condition. The passengers, a 52-year-old female from Burkburnett and two 17-year-old girls, were taken to Comanche County Memorial Hospital by ambulances. They were all admitted in fair condition.
We are working to learn this morning about a serious crash on the H.E. Bailey Turnpike (Interstate 44) north of Lawton.
The crash was reported near mile marker 62 on the interstate at around 9:30 a.m. The crash is around halfway between Elgin and Chickasha.
According to radio traffic, at least two people inside the car were ejected during the crash.
Three ambulances and a medical helicopter were called to the scene to assist.
