MEDICINE PARK, OK (TNN) - Saturday was a beautiful day to get outside and enjoy some music! That is what the crowds thought Saturday at the Parkstomp Bluegrass Music Festival in Medicine Park.
Five bluegrass bands played Saturday and four will play on Sunday, with each band playing for and hour and a half on the main stage. The festival is free to the public and is put on by several sponsors.
The emcee for the festival, who also played in the show with his band, said this festival is a community favorite.
“This is, just for about everyone in town, especially us involved in this, this is our favorite weekend of the entire year," said Rodney Whaley, emcee for the Parkstomp Bluegrass Music Festival. "Our band travels a lot. We do other festivals, but to be able to do it here, in our hometown, it’s pretty special. We started watching the weather a month ago. Of course, it always changes and changes and it just keeps getting better and better and better. Look at it. It’s pretty good.”
The music plays on until 10 p.m. Saturday night and will start back up Sunday from 1 p.m. to 9 p.m. For more information about Parkstomp and other festivals in Medicine Park, visit the Medicine Park Facebook page.
