One resident said she was just returning home when she saw a police chase on the property.
“It’s always been really safe. Nothing scary has ever happened. I was driving home from getting some lunch, I pull in and a guy runs right across my car and three police officers follow right after him, and I stepped on my brakes real quick, and they tackled him here in this hallway of this building over here," said Elizabeth McDougald. "That’s all I really saw, but it was scary.”
According to police officers at the scene, there was an altercation between two individuals at the complex that resulted in gunfire. Each individual suffered a gunshot wound to the leg. They were both transported to Comanche County Memorial Hospital.
McDougald said the incident is unusual for the area.
“I feel really safe living here, normally," said McDougald. "This is the first thing that’s ever happened. I’ve lived here about a year. Nothing bad has ever happened here.”
