LAWTON, OK (TNN) - Monday morning Children’s United received another generous contribution to help build an all inclusive playground in Lawton.
Veteran’s United Foundation stepped up and donated $15,600, which will cover the cost of two wheel chair swings.
Children’s United is working to raise $500,000, and right now they’ve secured about $85,000 two months into fundraising.
Today’s donation came from Veterans United Foundation, the philanthropic arm of Veterans United Home Loans. Veterans United Foundation is fully funded by Veterans United and its employees.
“Now these children don’t have to sit and watch their siblings, they can participate. The community, knowing this, can get their hearts out and donate to the cause for children who need it," said Jeannette Klien, branch manager of Veterans United Home Loans Fort Sill.
And you can support Children United's efforts by going to the Dancing for Children United event happening on April 13th at the Apache Casino Hotel.
Tickets are $50, and you must get them by April 5th at eventbrite.com or Apache Casino Hotel.
