LAWTON, OK (TNN) - Last week we told you about a food shortage at the Salvation Army and now, we want to recognize the great work the community has done to help out!
on Monday a couple stopped by and gave an entire pallet full of food that was estimated to cost about $700 after seeing our story last week.
But Major JoAnna Robinson reminds folks the smallest contribution helps... especially when they’re feeding 20 to 30 families in Lawton every day. “Helping the community you live in, if you can afford it, it just makes your heart swell up and you’ll want to do more. Even if its just a case of Ramen Noodles, it will help a family," said Robinson.
Major Robinson says people can also bring by money that will be used to purchase food from the Food Bank, as it’s a cheaper option.
And if you’d like to volunteer to set up the pantry, Robinson says that’s also greatly appreciated.
