Remains of WWII vet returned to Hobart

HOBART, OK (TNN) - The remains for a World War Two veteran from Hobart were returned to Oklahoma Monday ahead of his funeral later this week.

We told you about Corporal Claire Goldtrap of Hobart last month when his remains were identified and a funeral date was set.

The remains arrived at the Will Rogers World Airport before Oklahoma Highway Patrol troopers escorted them back to Hobart.

He was just 21 years old when he was killed in Tarawa in 1943.

DNA analysis and dental records were used to identify him.

His funeral is set for this Wednesday in Hobart.
