Extreme fire weather for this afternoon

First Alert Forecast

LAWTON, OK (TNN) -Good morning Texoma! Temperatures to start the day are very warm with a lot of places in the low to mid 60s. We have a few clouds building in this morning, and they look to stick with us through the afternoon. Winds today will be out of the southwest at 25-35mph with gusts to 60. There is a High wind warning in effect for western Texoma until 10PM this evening along with a wind advisory for the rest of the viewing area. These strong winds mixed with very low humidity, and somewhat dry vegetation has sparked a Red Flag Warning for our western Texoma counties. Do NOT burn today, and make sure to report any suspicious smoke to officials. Highs this afternoon will be in the upper 80s to lower 90s.

A strong cold front will move through Texoma later this evening. That will bring temperatures down into the mid 60s tomorrow afternoon. You may need to dig that winter coat back out for Friday morning, since low temperatures will dip into the upper 30s. Saturday, rain chances are in place for all of our Texoma counties. There will likely even be some snow in the Oklahoma panhandle Saturday. High temperatures will be in the low 50s. Sunday morning will yet again be very chilly.

Sunday, conditions will begin to clear and sunshine will return. Monday and Tuesday next week will be nice and warm again with highs back into the upper 70s and lower 80s.
