WICHITA FALLS, TX (TNN) - Sheppard Air Force Base says a training exercise turned “real world” after they received calls from people on base.
Officials had scheduled an active shooter training event which was set to take place across Sheppard on Thursday morning from 8-11 a.m.
That training turned into a “real world” scenario after they received calls from people reporting the sound of gunshots.
The base’s official Twitter account said out of an abundance of caution they switched to a real world response and searched a facility before confirming there was no threat.
There is no word on whether the scheduled active shooter training continued or if it has been rescheduled.
