First Alert 7 Forecast: some relief from the heat is expected as drier air moves in by Friday

First Alert 7 Forecast

LAWTON, Okla. (TNN) - An excessive heat warning is in effect this evening due to high humidity and feels like temperatures near 110°.

A weak cool front will move through this evening into tonight but will not bring much relief. Isolated storms are possible through about midnight, then partly cloudy skies into tomorrow morning. Temperatures will only fall to 90 by 9PM and lows will be in the mid 70s.

Another hot and humid day tomorrow under mostly sunny skies, but highs will stay in the mid 90s. It will feel like 100-105°. Relief arrives on Friday, not in terms of temperatures, but lower dewpoints leading to lower humidity. Expect sunshine and highs in the mid 90s. East winds 5-15 mph. The weekend will be hot but good for outdoor plans. Skies will be sunny with highs in the mid 90s and lows in the 60s to low 70s. Winds will be relatively light out of the east to southeast at 10-15 mph.

Next week will be what you’d expect for mid July. Mostly sunny, hot, and with a south to southeast breeze. We look to stay dry from tomorrow through at least mid next week.

Stay cool and have a great evening!
