DUNCAN, Okla. (TNN) - Duncan’s newly renovated wrestling center is ready to enter the next phase of development.
Monday, two of the project’s biggest donors got take a tour through the expanded Hoover Wrestling Center.
The building underwent a massive overhaul, with upgrades including additional bleachers, spaces for concession booths and room for two full wrestling mats.
The Center will provide a place to practice and compete for every wrestler in the Duncan area, along with surrounding towns like Marlow and Comanche.
It services over 400 area kids from 1st grade all the way to 12th.
“Its’ incredibly rewarding. I’m still a Duncan Demon, and to be able to be a part of what’s going to impact young wrestlers for a long time to come is really a blessing to be involved," said wrestling center donor, Randy Hoover.
Hoover says the next phase of renovations include adding new lockers and benches, replacing the roof and re-landscaping the front.
He says anyone wanting to donate can contact the Duncan Public Schools Foundation.
A District Dual will be held in the center Tuesday at 6 in the evening, marking the first time that wrestlers from Duncan High School will get to use the facility.
