LAWTON, Okla. (TNN) - Tuesday, ahead of the winter break at Lawton Public Schools, students at Hugh Bish Elementary got to have fun inside a makeshift igloo.
The teacher and personal care assistant for the special education class at Hugh Bish put together an igloo made out of Styrofoam from the boxes of smart TVs recently installed at the school.
They then invited students from grades across the school to come by, read books and eat snacks.
Most of the kids had a lot of questions about the igloo, too.
“Not a lot of the people understood that people actually utilize these things in certain environments. So, we explained to them where the igloo came from and what people use it,” said personal care assistant, Eric Pulaski.
He says it took them about a week to put the igloo together.
Some of the books they read included The Polar Express and The Christmas Hat.
