First Alert Forecast: Thanksgiving Day Forecast

First Alert 7 Forecast

LAWTON, Okla. (TNN) -

Good Thursday morning Texoma. The day is going to start off rather chilly with temperatures falling into the mid 30s around daybreak today. Sunrise today is at 7:18AM. While the day will start off chilly we’re looking at a gradual warm up to take place as the day goes on. We’re trending mostly sunny to partly cloudy with highs in rising into the upper 60s to low 70s. South winds at 10 to 20mph with gusts higher.

Wind during the late afternoon will shift towards the northwest as a cold front arrives. This front won’t bring us any precipitation chances but it will cool us much significantly for Friday.

Friday morning will start off with temperatures in the 30s. As of now, most of the day will be dry under partly cloudy skies. High temperatures during the afternoon will rise into the upper 50s. North to northeast winds all day at 10 to 20mph.

By late Friday/ early Saturday a wave of energy will move in bringing us an increase in cloud cover plus the chance for light rain showers. As temperatures fall close to freezing by Saturday morning a few western counties could see some flurries mixed in. While the threat for minor accumulation seems low right now, it is very unlikely this will be an impactful event. The overall thermal profile of the atmosphere will warm up as the day progresses meaning precipitation will transition over to just rain and spread northward by late Saturday night. Highs will stay in the low 50s with northeast winds at 10 to 15mph.

Moisture and warmer air will shift eastward by early Sunday resulting in precipitation ending around that time too.

Heading into early next week the overall weather pattern is trending slightly below normal with dry conditions and northwest winds.

Have a great Thanksgiving!
