COMANCHE COUNTY, Okla. (TNN) - OHP troopers were engaged in a high-speed chase by two people on Tuesday.
The chase started near Elgin in Comanche County when an Elgin police officer ran the pickup’s tags. The tags came back having been reported stolen. As soon as the officer switched on his lights the pickup driver took off.
Authorities say the chase reached speeds of 75 miles an hour in residential areas and more than 100 on the H.E. Bailey Turnpike.
The chase ended when a trooper used spike strips near Chickasha to stop them.
The passenger in the chase has been released.
