Firefighters pull victim from burning Lawton home

LAWTON, Okla. (TNN) -


The person who was pulled from the burning home by firefighters was transported to the hospital, there’s currently no word on the victim’s condition.

A firefighter was also taken to the hospital for treatment of minor burns and is expected to recover.

7News’ Caitlin Williams was able to confirm that several pets died in the fire.

Fire Marshals were on the scene to investigate what happened.

A witness says he was driving down the street when he heard a loud, “boom” noise and saw smoke coming from the area.

The witness says he called 911, found the scene of the fire, and tried to remove someone from the home, but was unable to do so. He also said a young man tried to fight the fire with a water hose before fire crews arrived.

Fire crews were called to a structure fire in Lawton Tuesday afternoon.

The call came in around 2 p.m. for crews to respond to a structure fire near Sheridan and “J” Ave.

Firefighters were able to pull one victim from the home.

There’s no word on the person’s condition as of yet, but we will release updates as we get them.
