LAWTON, Okla. (TNN) - The Lawton City Council will be meeting Tuesday at 2 p.m.
One of the items on the agenda that councilmembers plan to discuss is amending Lawton’s mask mandate.
One of the proposed changes includes not requiring people who’ve received both doses of the vaccine to wear masks, but only if they’re around others who have been vaccinated.
Another is to have the mask mandate in effect until two conditions are met. One being that Governor Stitt ends the state’s emergency declaration regarding COVID-19 and the second would be Comanche County’s average cases falling lower than the Moderate Alert Level.
Councilmembers also plan to discuss the current status of the Lawton Community in general with regards to the COVID-19 pandemic to provide direction to City staff and take actions as deemed necessary.
A full agenda for Tuesday’s City Council meeting can be found on the City of Lawton’s website.
