LAWTON, Okla. (KSWO) - A Lawton man is charged with assault after police said he repeatedly hit a man in head with a baseball bat.

According to court documents, in April of last year Kristopher Gohl struck the man three times outside an apartment off northwest 22nd Street.

Investigators said the attack sent the victim into a coma, and he needed to be transported for long term assisted living care.

Gohl is charged with Aggravated Assault and Battery, and is being held on a $25,000 bond.
