LAWTON, OK. - The Comanche County 4-H and Future Farmers of America hosted Take Stock In Kids Saturday evening to assist the youth in selling their livestock.

This is the eighth year for the event, which is a fundraiser for the organization.

Chairman Josh Sullivan said each year, it’s growing and getting better, but this year has been the best because of the amount of support they received.

“We had to move the event to the casino to accommodate more people this year,” Sullivan said. “We’ve sold 430 tickets and we’re sold out. The event has grown this last year. We were able to take care of 27 kids that did not make the premium sale and floor them at $250 apiece to help maybe where they can start with the project this next year.”

Sullivan said the events are not possible without the help of businesses in the southwest Oklahoma community.
