Southwest Oklahoma hospitals welcome Leap Day babies into world

Thursday, across Texoma, multiple families welcomed their Leap Day Babies.

LAWTON, Okla. (KSWO) - Thursday, across Texoma, multiple families welcomed their Leap Day Babies.

On a day that only comes every four years, True Emeri Banks was born, coming in at 6 lbs and 10 oz. His mom, Najai Banks, thought he would be born before the Leap Day.

“It was planned to induce, it took a while, but he’s finally here,” said Banks. “We are going to celebrate every year.”

One more leap baby was born in CCMH with another waiting in the wings while in Altus at Jackson County Memorial Hospital, Meadow Rose Lovett was born to Justin and Michelle Lovett at 7:56 a.m. She was 5 lbs and 13 oz.

Mom says Dad wanted a Leap Baby so she is here as planned!
