Popular YouTuber accused of tax evasion over Ferrari purchase

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV/Gray News) - A YouTuber with more than 10 million subscribers is facing a charge of tax evasion in Tennessee.

According to court records, Cody Shane Detwiler, who’s better known as “WhistlinDiesel” on YouTube, was indicted on charges of tax evasion in Williamson County earlier this month.

The reported charges stem from a purchase involving a 2020 Ferrari F8 Tributo.

According to the indictment, Detwiler and WhistlinDiesel, LLC, “unlawfully attempted to evade or defeat any tax due to the state of Tennessee of $500 or more.”

The YouTuber posted about his arrest on Instagram with the caption, “Won so big they thought I was cheating. (100% real, not AI).”
