Hunter Brittingham

OU Fellow

Hunter Brittingham is a junior studying meteorology at the University of Oklahoma, with a focus in broadcast. Originally from southwest Indiana, Hunter has always been fascinated by the weather, but initially went to school to become a registered nurse. In March of 2020, Hunter was working in Nashville, Tennessee when his community was struck by an EF-3 tornado. It was this storm that helped Hunter realize that he wanted to fulfill a childhood dream of becoming a meteorologist. In May of 2021, Hunter moved to Norman, Oklahoma to begin his meteorology studies at the University of Oklahoma.

Today, Hunter still works as a registered nurse in Oklahoma City while going to school for meteorology. In previous semesters, Hunter has also been a Meteorologist Intern at KOKH FOX 25 in Oklahoma City, as well as been a member of the weather and editorial teams on OU Nightly at the University of Oklahoma. Additionally, Hunter also works as a weather producer for the Purcell Register, in which he writes a weekly weather story with a 7-day forecast graphic. When Hunter is not working or studying, he enjoys getting caught up on rest, trying new restaurants, and traveling.
