D.A. expects to receive report on Walters homicide Wednesday

Walters_A Walters woman who told police she shot and killed her husband Monday afternoon could have been mentally ill.  Neighbors say 66-year-old Iona Allen has a history of mental illness, and she remains in the Cotton County jail.

The sheriff's office arrested Allen for killing her husband, 74-year-old Harry Williams, Monday afternoon. The Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation is expected to submit its report to the Cotton County District Attorney's office Wednesday, and they will determine charges against Allen.

Allen called the Cotton County Sheriff's Department around 2:30 Monday afternoon and she told them she shot her husband, and deputies found Williams in the back yard--dead from a single shotgun wound to his upper chest and lower face.
