Lawton- Firefighters saved a vacant home from burning down Monday night after an alert neighbor spotted the blaze.

The first crew on the scene at the corner of tenth and southwest Jefferson saw heavy smoke pouring out of the house around 10:15 p.m. They quickly learned it was vacant and nobody was inside. We're told flames did get into part of the attic, but most of the damage was confined to one room. Investigators say the home had no utilities turned on and they're calling the blaze suspicious.

The fire marshal is now investigating how it started.
