LAWTON, Okla._ Lawton Police have arrested two people in connection to the murder of James "Jimmy" Kemp, the city's fifth homicide victim.
21-year-old Enrique Melendez is in police custody on a murder complaint, and 21-year-old Laquinta Santos is behind bars for accessory after the fact.
Kemp was fatally shot on Thursday in front of a vacant apartment near NW 19th Street and Hoover.
The 911 call originally said Kemp slipped and fell on the ice, but first responders quickly determined his injuries were to not due to a fall but a gunshot wound.
Details about what led up to the shooting of Kemp have still not been released by police. They said Saturday that they are still conducting interviews and processing additional evidence.
