LAWTON, Okla._ A transformer caught fire in southeast Lawton Wednesday afternoon, cutting power to five nearby businesses for more than an hour.

Flames and smoke poured out of the transformer as crews worked to restore service around 4 p.m. PSO officials say it was not a major outage.

A simultaneous, but unrelated outage, left 300 customers on the west side of town without power, as well, near 67th and Lee Boulevard. PSO officials say the weather could be to blame for that outage.

All service to PSO customers has been restored, according to the PSO website.
