LAWTON, Okla._A boating mishap at Lake Lawtonka on Sunday afternoon left an 11-year-old with a serious foot injury.
Braden Kirkland was knee boarding with family members on the lake when waves from another boat pushed him into the motor. Braden's stepfather said he immediately shut off the motor as Braden drifted towards the boat. Braden's foot was clipped by the boat's propeller. He was rushed to an Oklahoma City hospital by helicopter after the accident.
Braden has undergone surgery to fix the damaged bone in his foot. He is expected to be released from the hospital Tuesday.
