Tractor-trailer fire briefly shuts down Highway 62 in Jackson Co.

ALTUS, Okla._Crews in Altus had their hands full this afternoon after a tractor trailer burst into flames on Highway 62.
It happened around 2:15 Sunday afternoon.
The truck was headed westbound when it suddenly became engulfed in flames. The intensity of the heat melted nearly all of the trailer. The Oklahoma Highway Patrol responded to the blaze and was assisted by the Jackson County Sheriff's Office and Altus and Friendship Fire Departments. Officials shut the westbound lanes of Hwy. 62 down for over two hours.
The trailer is a total loss. Luckily, no one was injured. No word yet on what sparked the fire.
