JACKSON COUNTY, Okla._Officials with OSHA have confirmed that they are investigating a recent cotton gin accident.
They say the worker had both of his legs amputated after he was caught in a vacuum separator unit at the cotton gin facility in Humphreys, on December 10th. One leg had to amputated on-scene. The other leg was amputated at an Oklahoma City hospital.
Last week, the business declined comment over the matter. OSHA says they are working to determine how the incident happened.
If violations of OSHA standards are found, the business will be cited and could be forced to pay a penalty for each citation.
