Fire burns four square miles

WALTERS, Okla._The fire near Walters has been put out.

The fire broke out around 2:00 p.m. on Elevator Road, which was closed while crews worked to contain the blaze. Crews stayed on-scene to mop up hot spots in the area. They still don't know how the fire got started.

The fire started on the far north side of a field and burned a two-mile by two-mile area. They were able to save two homes that were in danger.

Elevator Road is now open to traffic.
