(RNN Texoma) - Advocates for medical marijuana in Oklahoma met with state lawmakers Wednesday in an effort to come up with regulations for the industry moving forward.
That meeting began at 2:00 p.m. and included a bipartisan group of state senators and representatives. State Question 788 going into effect Thursday in the state.
Ahead of the meeting, New Health Solutions released its 270 page draft of a model legislation for the program that lifts THC limits and adds podiatrists, chiropractors, dentists and optometrists to the list of doctors who can recommend medical marijuana.
It also recommends that patients should be allowed to still own firearms while being treated.
