Cache High School students paint parking spots
Cache High School is starting the new year by adding some color and creativity to their student parking lot.
It's called 'Paint Your Spot' and students, like senior Sara Zimmerman, are excited for the opportunity to customize their own parking spot. "Finally! I've been wanting this to happen for a while. I saw it at some other school we went to play basketball at and I thought it was a really good idea. So, I'm glad it's actually happening for my senior year," said Cache High School Senior, Sara Zimmerman.
Not only is this fun but as school principal, Christy Taylor tells us, it's for a good cause. "These students paid $50 and it's a donation back to the school. It might go back to purchase something for the students. It might go back to purchase something for the teachers," said Cache High School Principal, Christy Taylor.
Each design was well thought out and required approval. "They could pick their design and they showed it to me. They were very nice, very appropriate and it all worked out. I didn't have any that I had to say 'nope'," said Principal Taylor. "Right now, I'm painting my background. I'll probably put my initials, so they know that that is 'Sara Zimmerman's spot' and I'll probably put like a megaphone since I'm a cheerleader and put go bulldogs," said Zimmerman.
Principal Taylor is looking forward to what the finished project could become. "A huge masterpiece. The creative minds of Cache High School students. They've put a lot of time and effort into it. The kids are enjoying it and it may be a new Cache High School tradition," said Principal Taylor.
The students will continue painting tomorrow with the hope of having their spots ready for the start of the upcoming year. The first day of school for Cache students is August 20th.
