FREDERICK, OK (KSWO)- A couple of Frederick teens premiered on TLC's new season of "Unexpected" on Sunday. The show looks at look three teen pregnancies and the effects it has on their families as everyone prepares for the arrival of the babies.
"We did not plan on having a child this young so, it was unexpected," said Emiley Noack.
Emiley Noack, 18, and Diego Reyes, 18, met in high school. They live together in Frederick where they take care of their daughter.
This is their first time on TLC's "Unexpected" show. Emiley said they submitted an application along with others to participate in the show.
Since January TLC has been filming their day-to-day lives.
"The first episode starts out with a family dinner of mine and it introduces my family and how we eat dinner and you get to know us and then the second part I actually call Diego to come to help me pack a hospital bag," said Emiley. "I think it went okay," said Diego.
Diego and Emily said parenting at a young age has been rough and wouldn't encourage their daughter to do the same in the future.
However, they said the reward of having her and the help from their parents allows them to persevere.
"It's super helpful to have someone else around,' said Diego. "Sometimes the help is not always great, but help is help."
As for their daughter, they describe her as playful and she's already starting to talk.
"She says mama and dada," said Emiley. "That's all she knows right now," said Diego.
Both said they encourage other teen parents like themselves to watch the show to get a deeper look at what to do and possibly not do.
"It shows day to day roughness, the nice stuff and also so they can relate to somebody else out there," said Emiley.
