Lawton Community Health Center holds open house

LAWTON, Ok (RNN Texoma) - The Lawton Community Health Center held an open house event on Thursday night to showcase their newest clinic.

Their Primary Care Center is inside of Comanche County Memorial Hospital's outpatient building.

The center has been open since April, but officials opened the doors to the community for a somewhat delayed grand opening ceremony in honor of both National Health Center week and the LCHC's 10th anniversary.

The space was once a storage area, but was renovated for clinical space and now serves the community.
"We see a large number coming through here, it's been well-received by the public, so I think we are very happy with the new location," Said Sean McAvoy, LCHC executive director. "We've settled in, you know, that first couple of weeks is always just settling in, but everyone's settled, they've come together, and I think everything's been going really good here."

The Primary Care Center accepts patients of all ages, and is staffed with doctors for both family practice and pediatrics.
