LAWTON, OK (KSWO)- Over two thousand people stopped by Great Plains Coliseum on Tuesday for the Armed Services YMCA 11th annual Y-Fry.
This year the organization hosted lunch and dinner in one day instead of two.
Volunteers served chicken, fish, mashed potatoes and dessert. There was also live music for visitors to enjoy.
The executive director said the goal was to support military members and their families.
"All of our programs and services for the junior enlisted military are lost cost or free and in order to keep it that way we have to offset those cots someway," said Carol Herrick. So, events like this go a long way in showing our military families that move to our community that we support them and allow us to continue to do what we do."
Herrick said their goal was to raise 20-thousand dollars. If you'd like to find more ways to support the ASYMCA you can visit them on their Facebook page.
