UPDATE: Inmate beaten and stabbed at Lawton prison

LAWTON_ An inmate at the Geo Correctional Facility in southeast Lawton was rushed to the hospital after police say he was beaten and stabbed. Officers were called to the prison shortly after 7:30 p.m. Saturday night. They say the inmate suffered serious injuries, including a stab wound to his eye.

According to police, the victim is Shannon Richmond. A police report indicates he was attacked with a c-clamp by another inmate in the chow hall. Richmond was taken to Memorial Hospital and later flown to an Oklahoma City hospital. His condition is unknown, and GEO would not release any information on Sunday. Department of Corrections records show Richmond was serving time for drugs and arson in Oklahoma County.
