Grandmother accused of leaving infant in hot car for nearly 8 hours while she worked at library
NASHVILLE (WSMV/Gray News) - A grandmother in Nashville is accused of killing a 7-month-old by leaving the baby in a hot car, according to authorities.
Linda Charlene Stevens, 69, was an employee at a library when she went inside to start her workday on April 15 around 8 a.m., Monterey Police said.

Stevens allegedly admitted that she planned to drop the child off at his daycare, but she did not.
The baby was left locked in her car seat until about 4 p.m., when a family member called Stevens to ask about the child’s whereabouts.
That’s when the 7-month-old was found dead inside the vehicle.
Stevens was charged with criminally negligent homicide. She is currently being held on a $50,000 bond.
