LAWTON, Okla. (KSWO) - Families searching for missing loved ones gathered in Lawton on Sunday for the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation’s “Missing in Oklahoma” event.

The event ran from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Cameron University.

OSBI invited families, friends and local agencies to connect with resources and share any information they have.

Hunter McKee, OSBI’s public information manager, said that making sure the public keeps hearing the names of missing people can make a difference in these cases.

“It is extremely important to keep these missing people’s names out there. To keep their case alive,” McKee said.

McKee said the cases raise many questions, which is what makes them challenging.

“And so, for us we want this day to be a time where families can discuss ... what they are going through,” McKee said.

McKee said the next “Missing in Oklahoma” event will be in April. He encouraged people who missed Sunday’s event to attend the next one.
