Michael Amankwaa

Michael Amankwaa grew up in a military family and experienced different weather patterns across the country.

Michael started as a Physics Major at what was called Union College in Lincoln, Nebraska, at the time. Eventually, he switched majors to a personalized meteorology degree by entering the Best of Both Worlds program. He took meteorology classes at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and a few classes online at Mississippi State before graduating in 2022.

He earned his first spot at KSWO with the First Alert Weather team in June of 2025. Educating and informing people about the weather is one of his favorite things to do.

Michael loves to travel with family and friends, is a car enthusiast and finds opportunities to help people.
